Every time you run a job on Rowan, you spend credits. One credit is one minute of computational time.
Calculations and workflows will always show the number of credits they used in their "Overview" or "Info" tab.
There are two types of credits in Rowan:
Every user or team subscription includes a set number of weekly credits. These credits refresh automatically each week (on Sunday at midnight UTC). Unused credits do not roll over to the next week—once they expire, they disappear.
Weekly credits are ideal for ongoing research and steady workloads.
You can buy additional credits whenever you need extra compute capacity (via the billing page). Purchased credits remain active for one year from the date of purchase. After one year, any unused purchased credits will automatically expire.
Purchased credits are great for bursty workloads or infrequent computational needs.
Weekly credits and purchased credits can be issued and used at both the user- and organization-level.
Credits will always be used in the following order:
You can check your credit balance in a few places, including:
On the billing page, you'll see:
You can set up a credit balance warning on your account page ("Account" [top right corner] > "Account").
If you pass your credit balance warning threshold, Rowan will let you know in two ways:
When your credit balance reaches 0, you won't be able to run any new jobs.
To purchase more credits, navigate to the billing page ("Account" > " Billing") and navigate to the "Purchase Credits" section
Your billing history will be saved, and you can quickly sort through your past transactions on the billing page.
Rowan offers a number of subscription plans so that scientists can access all of Rowan's features, use more compute, and collaborate within the Rowan platform. These plans are described at https://rowansci.com/pricing.
